CERTIFIED FOOD MANAGER

Description:

Certification of an operator or manager of a food establishment

Required Documents: Proof of passing an approved exam, the fee, and a completed application. State to state reciprocity may be possible.

Current approved courses are:
ServSafe (SS) Examination by the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association
The National Registry of Food Safety Professional, Food Safety Manager Certification Examination
National Assessment Institute's (NAI) Certified Professional Food Manager Examination from Experior Assessment, Clearwater, Florida
Dietary Manager's Association (DMA) Food Sanitation and Safety Examination from the Certifying Board of the Dietary Manager's Association.

Initial credential $10 and is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance, if applying within 12 months of successfully passing the approved examination.

Recertification of an operator or manager of a food establishment is for 5 years for a cost of $10.

Prerequisites: Already certified as a food manager, successful completion of a state approved recertification course or take and pass another state approved examination, completed application, and the fee.

Required Documentation: Documentation of successfully completing the recertification course or proof of passing an approved exam, and a completed application.
