FERTILIZER

Description:

License required for distributing, selling, or manufacturing fertilizer products in Wisconsin. Licensees must also complete and submit a fertilizer tonnage report and pay tonnage fees per ton for fertilizer products distributed and/or sold in Wisconsin during the previous calendar year.

A permit is required for distributing or selling "low-analysis" fertilizer (fertilizer with less than 24% nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) in Wisconsin. An annual fertilizer license is also required along with the completion and submittal of a fertilizer tonnage report and payment of fertilizer tonnage fees. In addition, true and accurate labeling for each product must be submitted with the low-analysis fertilizer permit application.

A permit is required for distributing or selling nonagricultural fertilizers or special-use fertilizers in Wisconsin for nonfarm, experimental or research use. Also required to distribute or sell special-use fertilizer designed and labeled for remedying nutrient deficiencies unique to certain agricultural crops or certain local areas. An annual fertilizer license is also required along with the completion and submittal of a fertilizer tonnage report and payment of fertilizer tonnage fees. In addition, true and accurate labeling for each product must be submitted with the nonagricultural or special use fertilizer permit application.
